Getting ready for Christmas

I can't believe there are only eight days till Christmas! We finally got our Christmas tree today, I think this is the longest we've ever waited. Unfortunately, we lost all of our Christmas tree ornaments when our basement flooded this past summer. I had all these plans to make ornaments with the kids, and now we have our tree, and we haven't made any. If anyone reading this has a simple ornament idea that you would like to share, I would really appreciate it. I've searched online a few times for ideas and I just don't seem to find what I'm looking for. It's kind of sad because my sister-in-law hand made a number of those ornaments, plus the kids and I made a lot.  But I'm happy we got our tree!
