We had fun making these Papier Mache Maracas, but unfortunately, they don't work very well. We followed the directions, but they didn't harden enough and the some rice falls out every time you shake them! This is my second attempt at papier mache. I don't know if I'll try it again. :)
Now that looks like a fun project! You guys always look like you're having a blast! Hip hip hooray for homeschooling!
ReplyDeleteWell, it looks so fun. I have been wanting to do a paper mache globe with Ethan.
ReplyDeleteTracey - (when I was teaching) we usually did paper mache over a two or three day period. It takes a long time to dry. Did you use balloons for a base? Also if you put something larger inside, like dry navy beans, they might seem to be more successful.
ReplyDeleteWe took 3 days to do it and yes, we used balloons. You're right beans would have been better. :)
ReplyDeleteOooh... what a mess... looks like fun! I bet Dale would love paper mache! I haven't done it myself in forever.
ReplyDeleteVery cute looks like you guys had alot of fun! I love paper mache ~Blessings Heather
ReplyDeleteI have never tried to do it. I have always left it up to dh. I have a few ideas that I would like to try. I am going to have just step up and do it.
