Not everyday goes smoothly

I wanted to post about some of the struggles I had this week. I wouldn't want someone to think that homeschooling around here always goes smoothly. We have our share of tough days, especially since the kids are counting down the days till summer vacation, and not so interested in doing schoolwork. We have 6 weeks left (some subjects will be finished sooner) and at this point in the year I'm just trying to get things wrapped up. I'm looking forward to summer vacation, too!

I had a hard time following our routine this week. Some mornings I just didn't want to get going and the kids picked up on it. If everyone lounges around in the morning it can make for a long school day. I also had a few Calgon-take-me-away moments. One example is when our dog spilled a bottle of bubbles on the living room rug, and at the same time my almost 3 year old daughter was screaming at the top of her lungs because my 7 yo took something away from her. One thing after another like that happened, and I got pretty worked up. But we also had some wonderful learning experiences this week, and some fun family times, too.
