Our Week

Homegrown Learners
This school year is going very differently than I envisioned it! Over the summer I planned the different curriculum we would be using, and came up with a schedule. But when September came around, I wasn't ready!  Instead, I've been more laid back and letting the kids learn about what they are interested in, and taking each week as it comes. The kids have spent lots of time outside enjoying the beautiful fall weather! We went to a Harvest Party, a field trip to the Audubon Society, and to the park with the homeschool co-op.  It's been sort-of like unschooling, except I do require them to do a few things like math and spelling each day. We may become more scheduled-and get to those things I had planned-when weather gets colder and we are stuck inside.  Here are some of the things the kids have done this past week:

  1. Your schedule sounds very relaxing and fun. We'll be using TOPS Magnetism in a few months - part of our physics plan for the year.
